What a Precinct Chair Does

One of the most local offices Texas has

A precinct chair is a volunteer, elected by neighbors in the spring primary, who serves a two-year term. No salary. No staff. Just someone who raised a hand to help the precinct run right.

Help neighbors vote

Assist with registering, finding the right polling place, and navigating the basics of the process.

Work the elections

Serve as an election judge or clerk during early voting and on Election Day, and help recruit poll workers.

Carry the precinct's voice

Sit as a voting member of the county party's executive committee, representing Precinct 65 residents.

Keep neighbors informed

Share what's on the ballot and what's happening that affects the precinct, year-round.
